There’s limitless potential to be found within the Cloverfield Universe, and the idea of expanding upon that world with short films is a really cool one. We’d love to see J.J. Abrams embrace that potential and put the power in the hands of the universe’s biggest fans, but in the meantime, one fan has taken it upon himself to expand with his own (unofficial) short.
Directed by Greg Strasz, Megan is billed as a proof of concept that pays tribute to Bad Robot’s Cloverfield Universe, with inspiration taken from both Cloverfield and 10 Cloverfield Lane, as well as the franchise’s websites, mangas, marketing campaigns and the online ARG.
The 5-minute short stars Matilda Lutz (Revenge) as the title character, who is presumably supposed to be Howard Stambler’s daughter from 10 Cloverfield Lane, Megan Stambler.
And yes, the monster makes an appearance…
